Governing Bodies

Upholding integrity and regulatory compliance in Euroleague Basketball competitions.

The Decision-Making Bodies

The Euroleague Basketball Sport Finance Department

The Sport Finance Department drives strategic initiatives to develop, implement, and enforce policies that enhance governance, efficiency, and long-term sustainability in Euroleague Basketball competitions. It ensures financial compliance across clubs by thoroughly reviewing financial statements, monitoring data accuracy, and serving as the main point of contact for FSFPR-related concerns. Through close collaboration and constant policy enhancement, the department works to support clubs in improving their business performance and to contribute to the league’s overall growth and success.

The Management Control Commission

The Management Control Commission (MCC) is the governing body responsible for overseeing and ensuring compliance with the FSFPR. It plays a central role in the monitoring, management, control, decision-making, and supervision of all activities related to the regulations. The MCC is composed of three experienced members who work independently to assess and evaluate the financial performance of the clubs, ensuring that all participants adhere to the league's financial guidelines. Through diligent oversight, the MCC helps maintain the integrity of the competition and ensures financial transparency and accountability within Euroleague Basketball.

The Finance Panel

The Finance Panel (FP) serves as the disciplinary body that takes action when necessary to enforce the FSFPR. It is responsible for imposing sanctions on clubs found in violation of the regulations, based on cases referred to it by the MCC. The FP is composed of three independent judges with the expertise to evaluate the seriousness of any breaches and determine the appropriate penalties. These sanctions can range from financial penalties to restrictions on participation in future seasons, depending on the nature and extent of the violation.

Independence and Objectivity

Both the MCC and the FP operate independently from each other and from Euroleague Basketball, ensuring impartial, transparent decision-making free from external influence. This structure strengthens the credibility of the FSFPR and the league, allowing both bodies to effectively uphold the integrity of the regulations and maintain fair play and financial stability throughout the competition.
