EuroLeague Framework Agreement

Strengthening cooperation, fairness and future growth among the League, Players and Clubs.

About

EuroLeague Basketball and the EuroLeague Players Association (ELPA) have successfully renewed the EuroLeague Framework Agreement (EFA) in September 2024, extending its terms from the original 2021 agreement. The new EFA will remain in effect until the conclusion of the 2026-27 season.

The negotiation process for this updated EFA was a collaborative effort, involving three key parties: EuroLeague Basketball, ELPA, and the EuroLeague Clubs Commission. This tripartite approach ensured that the interests and perspectives of all stakeholders were fully considered, resulting in a balanced and inclusive agreement.

The renewed agreement establishes a comprehensive framework designed to set a high standard for mutual cooperation, fostering a harmonious and productive environment for all parties involved. The updated EFA introduces a compulsory minimum standard for all participating teams, players, and the league, ensuring consistency and fairness. Its provisions, including those implemented through the Standard Player Contract (SPC), will be applied as long as they do not conflict with the mandatory laws and regulations of the countries in which the participating Clubs are based.
